aprons

just a quick post to show some aprons and blahg about what i'm working on. recently as i have said afore, i joined 4 yahoo groups. And the fiber group in particular is proving to be alot of fun. i made a friend in the cloth doll group (she's really nice), of course i love the paper doll group, and as of yet have done nothing except introduce myself to the atc group. i think i have chosen well and will keep very busy with both my groups and my own pursuits. (one can only hope). anywho i got the purple apron done and heres one i made last year. also a sort of sneak preview of what i hope to make for my fiber group. we will see if i have the moxie to participate in a trade. if i do i will be both pleased and surprised. fingers crossed!

its been a long fun day. i got alot done again today. mostly chores but i was able to get a little bit of sewing done. a very little drawing and i wanted to show the only apron i have left of my Mom's. it is very fragile so i'm probably going to have to wrap it up and pack it away. just looking at it makes me think of pearls and heels. Ah well, I also finally finished my youngest daughters top. She loves purple and i put a key lime green pocket on it just to annoy her. life just isn't worth living unless you can irritate your children. Get a little bit of your own back for all the drama they put you through in those teen years;) I didn't get any paperdolls done today so i just did a drawing. the Ocean's 11,12 and 13 marathon went well, tomorrow the pirates!! okay i'm sleepy now and once again Gypsy has beaten me to the mark. slaap lekker!

hellabusy day

i got alot done today and now i can craft about the cabin freely. Yea! i finally got to make some paperdolls. I made M'tee on Thursday, M'tild last night and Xana woke me up and 2 this morning demanding to be made. I wasn't doing any justice to the sleeping thing so i let her have her way. They were fun to make and i can't wait to make more. However at some point this weekend i'm going to have to actually make a cloth doll. (sigh) a crafters work is NEVER done:)

here is the dress i promised too. it looks better on me, the back was scaring me a bit but it looks better on. i was running through the house checking all the mirrors to make sure. I'm also going to have to consult my camera manual so i can get better pictures. every time i try to take a close up shot all i get is blur. This camera is supposed to take the close up shot so it must be operator error. Fine! I'll read the big bloody book of instructions. AND the manual for my new phone. i got alotta readin to dooooo!! Okay i'm sleepy now. Gypsy says Nightall!

i put the back of the top up top by mistake but what i meant to say was i painted that skull on black fabric using watered down bleach. I had a bleach pen but it was defective so i just made a mix of a little bleach and mostly water, put some plastic down and went to work. i've heard of this technique and always wanted to try it but never have til today. Which is why i didn't know the skul would be that eery red color. it was a mistake that turned out really cool looking. My girl will love it cus she is very very morbid. okay this really is good night.

groups

i just joined a few yahoo groups, i was so excited at the prospect of meeting new people and learning new things. now i'm just plain mortified, what have i done? I hate being the new kid! well i'm me, that's the only me i know to be so hopefully and prayerfully all will be well. if not, lesson learned, move on to the next thing. nuff said!

my eldest daughter is away and i like to send her pics of cute things that i'm making for her. So today even though at first neither my mood nor my body were cooperating i dragged my butt into the boutique and sewed for a while. So i finished her camouflage skull apron top and cap. The cap is a new pattern i'm trying so i didn't embellish it or anything. but the next one i make will definitely have a skull on it. i got the pattern from this biker cap i bought at wal-mart. it was too small for my big head AND my fat hair so i had to take it apart and make it bigger. Since i had extra camouflage bandannas left from the apron to i decided to go ahead and make one for my girl first. it could use some tweaking but it fits my big head And my fat hair.

the next top i'm working on is going to be from bandannas too but i am making this one longer and i'm probably gonna put a back on this one. We'll see. I really want to make the maxi one, but i need more coordinating scraps.
