My Dotee trades are here!!

Yay, they arrived and they are adorable! The thing i love about dotees is the individual personalities, how is that possible in something so small? I am so happy that dotty from australia created dotees and even happier that she gladly shared that knowledge thus making it possible for Barb of F.A.T. to share the fun with us. These ones have delicate little embroidered faces, and i have seen some beautiful tiny embroidery on others as well all i can say is more power to the women who can do that cus i really just can't. And I am in awe of those that can. okay, the asian one with the cherry blossom kimono and moonstone earrings is called Soochan, the pink one with yellow felted hair, intricate beading and embroidery is Dolores, and the lovely lace one that i secretly coveted and am so happy i received is Dona Maria Regalia Dotee. All the names popped into my head while i was unwrapping them so that's what they are. Don't you just love dotees? I can't wait to make more but am still taking it easy. I did a little work today but not very much for not very long. Ah well, I rest today, so i can create tomorrow, or the next day. this is such a bummer but my new dotees are keeping my spirits up. perfectly still

It was an incredibly busy week for me so i have lots of pics to post naturally. An "out of the blue" postcard arrived from a f.a.t. friend. And my dotees found new homes on friday, which means next week new dotees will arrive. I also crocheted a little monster for my dd who is far far away and made a purple dotee for the dd in jax. My SIL asked if i would paint the Hulk sign on his son's wall and of course i said yes. Unfortunately, this meant painting from a ladder with my arm up over my head for an extended length of time. So now i feel like i've been beaten with a bag of rocks. it didn't help that i also walked into town carrying a backpack full of packages to mail off to friends, family and fatties. But the Hulk sign looks great. the pic i have is unfinished but i will take a pic of the finished sign soon. I even finished assignment five of my writing course and mailed it off too. I have decided to spend the entire weekend lying perfectly still and letting my body rest. oddly enough, but not surprisingly, i find it incredibly difficult to remain still. i keep thinking of little things i could be doing besides resting. I've caught up on my Anime list and finally got to watch my Netflix movies. "Penelope" was alot of fun to watch and i really loved the rooms and clothing. Project Runway started this week and the first challenge was design an outfit from things in a grocery store. I immediately thought of a painted paper towel dress with coffee filter underskirt. won't be able to sketch it til next week though cus i'm supposed to be still. and the good news is our confinement is finally over so we'll be sewing again real soon. i know that sounds like gypsy will be sewing too but she will be cheering me on so it counts as the same thing. okay, better stop typing, gotta rest my arm.

more bird Goddesses

i was thinking i choose 3 of the bird goddesses to make fiber atc's for the next fat trade. i think that would be pretty cool since i've already got goddesses made i just needed to put them on cloth. sounds like a plan and less work for me.

it honestly felt like my birthday i got so much stuff. i also received an amulet bag and paper kimono for out of the blue, the recycled plastic on the sleeves was that mesh you find on fruit, neat huh? she also gave me fat quarters in a nice burgundy. i absolutely love fat quarters!! I also made a paperdoll and to paper birds out of paper scraps. i've been really busy this week, learning a new amigurumi pattern and starting a crocheted square for a round robin. it's not for a group, just some people i know who like to crochet. i've got projects started all over the place and the blue room is getting a little full. next week, organization! I've been working on my atc"s as well, what was i thinking, 5 trades at once!! i mail the sets off today and then i start my one on one trading. we shall see.

another week gone by

where does the time go? it's nearly 4 am, i was talking to my daughter (who is far, far away) and she said, "Mom let me call u back." i said okay and continued on working on my art, after awhile i wondered what time it was and WHAM!! it's nearly 4 am. what am i doing up? why am i still working? yes, yes, time flies when your'e having fun, but i can barely see i'm so tired. ah, well, i've got pictures to post. i have quite a few so first the trade packets going out, then what i've received so far, a madame butterfly paperdoll from my paperdoll trade, and lovely bluebird with caution tape breast from the out of the blue trade, a lovely amulet bag with dyed papertowel and fuzzy yarn straps.

so many things

i finally got my trades for my f.a.t. group done, YAY! You've already seen "Out of the blue", so i will post the amulet bags and the other dotees. Dotees are addictive and I've got to comment of Dot's page to let her know that. Dot is the lady from Australia who invented Dotees. I've got to put her in my list of favorite blogs cus i love her work. Well Gypsy and I finally got some peace and quiet and some but not all the things we planned got done. No matter. We did alot. it is enough. Also Webbed Shoes and Flutterby, made it to Canada safely and they are loved so I am happy. Sugah and Peep will go out again next week when i go into town. better luck this time i hope. I've made a lot of painted paper towel and am working on some new ATC's. I haven't started any new paperdolls yet though. no doubt when we are once again confined to the blue room Gypsy and i will get alot of "paper" work done. I forgot to mention that the third button fairy arrived, doesn't she look like Betty Boop? the floral paper is going to go on the new collage i'm working on. YaY! The blue amulet bag is made with painted paper towel. isn't it cute?
